Lyn McCall - CEO

Lyn McCall enlisted in the Marines in 1966. In 1967, Private McCall completed Infantry Training Regiment at Camp Pendleton, was promoted to Private First Class, transferred to Aerographer’s Mate “A” School, promoted to Lance Corporal, assigned to Aerographer’s “C” School, and then shipped off to Officer Candidate School.

Lieutenant McCall served two tours in Vietnam during which he flew 788 combat missions in AH-1G HueyCobra helicopter gunships. In Vietnam, Lyn was awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism in combat and two Single Mission Air Medals for heroics against an armed enemy.

In 1970-71, he was assigned to Force Troops, Pacific in the First Air and Naval Gunfire Liaison Company in Hawaii and San Diego where he served as the company S-4 and the Air Platoon Commander. While in ANGLICO he was promoted to Captain, attended Airborne School at Fort Benning, earned his Army and Navy Parachutist Wings, and made 26 jumps.

In 1971 Captain McCall transitioned to the CH-53 with HMH-363 at MCAS Santa Ana, CA and completed Amphibious Warfare School through the Continuing Officers Professional Education Program at Camp Pendleton.

In 1973 Lyn completed the Navy jet transition course for Army-trained Marine aviators, then served with VMAT-102 as Flight Line Officer. In 1974 he joined HMH-361 where he was the S-1 and the Aircraft Maintenance Officer. While in HMH-361 he received a BA in General Studies from Pepperdine University.

In 1975 Captain McCall was assigned as an aircraft operations analyst, and for a time Rotary Wing Branch Head, at the Naval Safety Center. While at the Safety Center he was a guest instructor at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) Aviation Safety Command Course, completed the NPS Defense Resource Management Course, completed the Marine Corps Command and Staff College, completed the Air Command and Staff College at Langley AFB, received his MA in Human Resource Management from Pepperdine, and was promoted to Major.

During 1979-81 Major McCall served in Okinawa, first as the Marine Air Group 36 Aviation Safety Officer and then as the Headquarters and Maintenance Squadron Executive Officer (XO) and Interim Commanding Officer (CO).

In 1981 Lyn served in HMH-362 at MCAS New River, NC as the S-3 and XO.  In 1982 he attended the inaugural Senior Officers Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) course in Yuma. In June 1983 he assumed the duties of HMH-362 CO and in October he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.  In 1984, HMH-362 was the first Marine flying squadron to achieve 100% in Terrain Flight and Night Vision Goggle qualifications for all aircrew, and received the first ever grade of “No critical deficiencies” on the Marine Corps Combat Readiness Evaluation. Also in 1984, Lyn served as the Aviation Combat Element Commander aboard the USS Saipan during NATO “Operation Teamwork 84″.

In August 1985 he reported to Headquarters, Marine Corps (HQMC) where he served first as the Communications, Command and Control, and Computer (C4) member on the Assistant Commandant’s Program Objectives Memorandum (POM) Working Group, and then as Head, C4 Plans and Program Branch.  While assigned to HQMC, he completed the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (National Security Management Course).

In 1988 Lieutenant Colonel McCall attended the College of Naval Warfare (NWC) Senior Course.  At NWC Lyn was chosen by his classmates to emcee the annual gaieties night “roast” of the faculty and staff, was selected by HQMC and NWC to participate in three Global War Games, and was promoted to Colonel.

In 1989 Colonel McCall was assigned to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) as the Executive Assistant for Tactical Warfare Programs. While in OSD, he served with the Defense Science Board (DSB) 1990 Summer Study at the USAF Academy in Colorado Springs, was a charter member of the Defense Modeling and Simulation Working Group, was Executive Secretary of the DSB “High Leverage Technology Support for Operation Desert Storm” task force, and was assigned to the US delegation to the Conventional Forces in Europe Arms Control Treaty Negotiations.

Since his separation from the Marines in 1992, Lyn has held positions as program analyst, program manager, group director, vice president, executive vice president, and chief operating officer prior to Founding VetWorks. Matthew “Ruggy” McCall - President

In early 2006 Matt founded the non profit charitable organization “Our Hands Helping Others” (www.ourhandshelpingothers.org). “Our Hands Helping Others” helps victims of human trafficking and individuals forced into slavery overseas.

In 2007 Matt traveled throughout Southeast Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East; while simultaneously continuing his education and working to get “Our Hands Helping Others” up and running.

Matt traveled back and forth extensively to and from the United States in early 2007 before finally shelving his endeavors to spend more time with his family. Upon Matt’s return to the United States he sold insurance where he was number two in sales (nationwide) his first month.

In January 2008, Matt assumed his current position with Vet-Works.

Matt’s proud that he has always responded when called upon. He believes and teaches that if you follow the values of honor, courage, and commitment then anything is possible.
